Blogging is so new to me yet I would like to get on with times and be able to blog just like so many other people are doing.

Here I am sitting in one of the most gorgeous ski resorts’ lodge in Tahoe City California — Alpine Meadows and enjoying the scenery on a spectacularly nice day with blue and sunny skies. It is a beautiful resort; people from all around the world are skiing and snowboarding. They are having fun and they all look very pleased with this activity, there is so much gear that people have to deal with while doing this sport yet they don’t seem to mind at all. In a few days, they will all go back home to their regular daily activities.

How many of these people will be building their dream homes in the upcoming 2010, I wonder? Do they even know about the process of home building? Where do you start and how do you plan? Well, they may say I don’t have any money so there is no way I can afford my dream home. But, isn’t it with dreams that we start everything we want in life. The cabin we are staying in has a big wall poster that reads: it’ll cost nothing to dream & everything not to.

Let’s go on a journey to dream that lovely home that will be yours perhaps in 2010. How many bedrooms and how many bathrooms do you need? What will the façade of your house look like and of what materials? Where do you want your kitchen to be located? Do you need a fireplace in the kitchen or breakfast nook or family room? How about the floors, ceramic tile or hardwood? Would it be nice to have an open kitchen area to entertain your friends and loved ones? Should all that be connected to an outdoor area where entertainment can be easily moved to outdoors weather permitting, and the landscape and hardscape in your outdoor areas? What about the counter tops and the layout of the kitchen? How about a large wooden island or perhaps granite top, where people can gather while preparing and cooking dinner? Should that island have an extra sink for easy food preparation?

Now let’s move to the master bedroom area and start thinking about that for a while? Do you need an extra sitting area in there, should you need a fireplace right across from your bed with a TV hook up on top? Do you need a breakfast bar for morning coffee? How big of a master closet do you need, should that be broken into his and hers? What about the shower and the bath tub?

I have given you so many questions to think about that dream, haven’t I? Well, we, at SilverCrest Homes, can help you not only with all these questions but also in making that dream turn into reality. It seems overwhelming yet it is not only a fun but also a rewarding process to work together and make this dream come true!
